About
US Forest Service campground. Located on the cusp of the magical and mysterious Gospel-Hump Wilderness, hikers, campers, anglers, hunters and families alike will find four campsites with parking, picnic tables, fire rings and a trailhead marking a trail which skirts the edge of the Wilderness. Campground area does not offer adequate room to maneuver towed trailers much longer than 15 feet, but pickup campers and mini motor homes would have little difficulty. Nearby fishing opportunities in Slate Creek, together with many historical mining sites in the vicinity makes Rocky Bluff Campground a unique and fun destination. Pack out what you pack in. Not reservable through Recreation.gov, so plan on first-come, first-served; check with the ranger district for current conditions and fees.
