Rocky Neck State Park is a Connecticut State Park campground with 152 sites near Niantic (East Lyme). Open and wooded sites (Crane and Egret areas) near East Beach on Long Island Sound; camping season runs May through early September. Also has 3 rustic cabins (excluded from this campground's site count as lodging). No electric or water hookups at individual sites. Reservable through Connecticut State Parks' own ReserveAmerica contract (connecticutstateparks.reserveamerica.com), up to 11 months in advance. Connecticut's camping system is uniformly reservation-based - no first-come-first-served-only campground was found in this state's system.

Fees

$20/night for CT residents, $30/night for non-CT residents (portal.ct.gov DEEP fee schedule). Plus a ReserveAmerica reservation processing fee. Pets are NOT allowed here - Connecticut DEEP's own policy: "Pets are prohibited in State Park camping areas, but permitted at State Forests." (ctparks.com/camping, confirmed live.)
