About

Port of Benton campground on Crow Butte Island in Lake Umatilla, the Columbia River pool behind John Day Dam, off Highway 14 twelve miles west of Paterson. The Army Corps of Engineers owns the park and the port has run it since 2007. 50 full-service campsites with 50-amp hookups, one RV and one tent per site, plus a primitive group tent area for parties over 15; a dump station and boat ramp. Park open April 1 to October 15; the boat ramp is open year-round. Propane fires only.

Fees

RV sites $45/night ($35 for veterans); group primitive tent site $80/night; day use $10; $8 reservation fee.
