About

Primitive canoe campsite on Burnap's Island in the Connecticut River, owned by the Town of Plainfield and maintained by the Upper Valley Land Trust, about 3 miles below the Mascoma River and the I-89 bridge at West Lebanon and just above the mouth of the Ottauquechee River. The site is near the southern end of the island's wooded portion; land from the west side of the island, off the main channel. A cleared tent site with a box privy and grill, for up to 8 campers. Reached only by canoe or kayak - no access from land. First-come, no reservations; two nights maximum. No fee, but $10 per tent per night is requested. No drinking water - bring, filter, or boil.
