About

Morton County campground on ND Highway 1806 about 25 miles south of Mandan, next to the Fort Rice State Historic Site and the Roughrider ATV trailhead. 10 electrical sites plus unnumbered primitive camping the county does not count, with picnic sites, two vault toilets, potable water and a dump station; four pull-through sites can be taken on a 30-day plan ($350). Three miles further south at the county's Fort Rice Recreation Area (781 Boat Dock Road, one mile east of 1806) there is more primitive camping with boat ramps, a fish-cleaning station and two vault toilets. All sites are first come, first served; camping is limited to 10 consecutive days. Pets on a leash no longer than 10 feet, not on beaches or playgrounds.
