About
Town of Mattawamkeag campground 8 miles into the wilderness along the Mattawamkeag River, near Lower and Upper Gordon Falls and Sleugundy Heater Gorge: 50 RV/tent sites (6 with electric, water, and sewer; 8 with electric and water; RVs under 35 ft recommended for serviced sites) plus 11 Adirondack shelters, some riverside. Full bathroom facilities with free hot showers, dump station, playground, recreation hall and a store. Pets allowed under direct supervision with proof of vaccination. Closes for the winter and reopens in May; Mattawamkeag Wilderness Recreation Services manages the park for 2026. Reserve by phone.

2026 nightly - tent $24, Adirondack shelter $28, electric $31, electric and water $34, full hookup $37. Seasonal May 15-October 15 $1,500-$2,500.
