About
El Dorado Irrigation District recreation area around Jenkinson Lake in the pines east of Placerville, with two boat launches, swimming, fishing and a nine-mile shoreline trail. Nine family campgrounds around the lake for tents and RVs up to 40 feet, with vault toilets and water faucets but no hookups; the district does not publish a site total. Separate equestrian and youth-group camps are not included. Pets allowed. Open year-round: reservations March through November, first-come December through February.
