About
County-run campground on Brevard County's southern barrier island, on the Indian River across A1A from ocean beaches near Sebastian and Vero Beach. RV and tent camping with waterfront and shoreline sites. 170 total sites: 113 waterfront semi-improved (water and electric), 17 improved (water, electric, and sewer), and 40 semi-improved (water and electric). Showers, laundry, a 1-lane boat ramp, fish cleaning station, two picnic pavilions, playground, and a wildlife pond. Adjacent Scout Island connects via a footbridge with over a mile of nature trails and primitive youth group camping (currently closed). Dogs allowed on a short leash for camping guests only, prohibited near the pond, picnic areas, and playground.
Fees
Brevard County residents: $33.38/night year-round. Non-residents: $47.26/night May-Oct, $49.51/night Nov-Apr (seasonal). Water-access or sewer sites: +$2.00/day. Boat launch: $5.87/day ($73.04 annual pass). Parking pass: $4.69/day. Youth group camping: $5.87/person/day, 10-camper minimum. Plus 7% sales tax and 5% tourist tax.
