This scenic backcountry equestrian campground is found in Bow Valley Provincial Park on the northwest shore of Barrier Lake. The closest access is at the Barrier Dam Day Use Area , 30 km east of Canmore on Hwy. 1 and 12 km south on Hwy. 40.

The campground is 3.9 km from the trailhead and the hike is rated easy. It can also be reached by boat. There are tent pads, hitching rails, horse feed storage, pit/vault toilets, secure food storage lockers, a bike rack and firewood provided. There are two group cooking and gathering areas in the campground, each with picnic tables, benches, a fire pit and bear bins.

Secondary access is via the Quaite Creek Trail/ Jewell Pass Trail from Heart Creek Day Use Area and is 9.4 km with 340 m of elevation.
