Cabins at Sheps Canyon Recreation Area

Sheps Canyon Recreation Area's Camping Cabins are simple one-room, log-style cabins sleeping four to five people, furnished with a set of bunk beds, a double bed, and a table with benches. Electricity, heat, and air conditioning are provided, but there's no running water, bathroom, or kitchen inside - bring your own water container, sleeping bag or bedding, cooking gear, a cooler, toiletries, and a flashlight. Sheps Canyon's Group Lodge has three bedrooms, sleeping up to 12, with four full bathrooms and a full kitchen and dining area. Originally a 1942-built commander's quarters at a military ordnance depot, the building was relocated here in 1996 and purchased by South Dakota in 2012. It's wheelchair-accessible. Pets are permitted with a fee on the main level (service animals with prior notice). This park's separate '2 group camping sites' are a different, first-come-first-served camping product, not part of this lodge.
