Newtown Battlefield State Park, overlooking the Chemung Valley near Elmira at the site of a Revolutionary War battle, has 5 rustic cabins (no bedding, cookware, or heat provided) renting alongside its 18-site campground. Each sleeps up to 4. Cabin campers arriving after 9 PM must call ahead to arrange for a key. Pets are limited to 2 per site with current rabies proof and a 6-foot leash.
