About

Two Rivers State Recreation Area has ten refurbished Union Pacific railroad cabooses for overnight stays, each air conditioned and sleeping six on two bunk beds in the rear plus two mattresses in the cupola. Caboose #10 is ADA accessible and sleeps four instead of six. Each has a modern bathroom and shower, a kitchen/dining area with a stovetop, microwave, mini fridge, and sink, plus a deck with a picnic table, grill, and fire ring (a second picnic table, grill, and fire ring sit just off the deck). Bring your own bedding, towels, and cooking/eating utensils. No pets are allowed in the cabooses, unlike most other Nebraska state park cabins. Open April 15 through the end of September per the park's own page (the statewide pricing page rounds this to "May through September").

The park's own page states these cabooses are available April 15 through the end of September; a separate NGPC pricing page rounds this to "May through September" - a real, minor discrepancy between the two sources, noted rather than silently resolved. Either way, this is a warm-season-only product, closed over the winter.
