About
Sangchris Lake State Park's 2 Rent-A-Camp cabins are a real, furnished cabin built by Illinois DNR: one full-size bed, two sets of bunk beds, an electric heater, and a ceiling fan (some locations also have a drop-leaf table and chairs), sleeping up to 6. Electricity is included, but there's no running water, kitchen, or private bathroom inside - showers are at the campground's bathhouse. Bring your own bedding and personal items. All of them are ADA accessible. Pets are not allowed at cabin sites.
Fees
$45/night ($55 on Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day weekends), per Illinois DNR's statewide camping fee schedule: a $25 cabin fee plus this Class A site's own camping and utility fees. Illinois seniors 62+ and residents with a disability card receive a discount; a $5 reservation fee applies.
Illinois DNR's own live cabins page listed these two cabins as "closed for maintenance through March 2025" - that date has passed, so they're most likely reopened, but the page hasn't been updated to remove the notice. Call the park to confirm current status before planning your trip.
