Family Cabins Deluxe
Four Deluxe cabins at Backbone State Park, Iowa's top cabin tier - a full kitchen, full bathroom, and heating/air conditioning; bring your own bedding, towels, and dishes. Some of the park's Modern-tier cabins (A, B, C, D, and 10) are confirmed wheelchair accessible; whether that includes any of these four Deluxe units specifically isn't listed. Pets are allowed.
Family Cabins Modern
Twelve Modern cabins (1- and 2-bedroom) in the Maquoketa River valley at Backbone State Park, Iowa's oldest state park. Each has a full kitchen, full bathroom, and heating/air conditioning; bring your own bedding, towels, and dishes. Cabins A, B, C, D, and 10 are wheelchair accessible (the park's own page doesn't confirm accessibility for the remaining cabins either way). Pets are allowed.
Backbone's own live booking calendar currently shows all of this park's cabins (Modern and Deluxe alike) and the separate Beach Lodge as not accepting reservations from January 4 through May 31, 2027, due to a wastewater project - not a normal winter off-season, but a one-time construction closure. Outside that window these cabins are reservable year-round. Confirm status directly before planning a trip in that window.
