About
Sleeps up to 4 at Olnes Pond (Mile 10.5 Elliot Hwy.), which also has a developed boat launch and boat tie-ups. Vehicle access. Heated by a wood stove; wired for electricity, but bring your own generator since no power is provided. This cabin is available for reservation September 30 through May 1 only - a genuine winter-season cabin, unlike most other Alaska State Parks public-use cabins, which are bookable year-round. In winter, melt snow for water. Like every Alaska State Parks public-use cabin, it comes with wooden sleeping platforms, a table, and chairs or benches, plus a nearby outdoor latrine - no running water or indoor plumbing. Bring your own sleeping bag or bedding, cooking stove and fuel, cookware and utensils, and a 9-volt battery for the smoke detector. A natural water source is usually nearby but must be purified before drinking.
Fees
$45/night (Alaska State Parks' own published cabin rate). Reserve America adds a non-refundable $5 transaction fee per booking (a $4 fee applies to date changes made at least 3 days before arrival).
