About the Courtney Campbell Scenic Highway

The Courtney Campbell Scenic Highway is a testament to the coexistence of modern society and nature, benefiting both. The Courtney Campbell Causeway (which forms the byway corridor) is a vital artery in Tampa Bay, providing a link to the cities of Tampa and Clearwater.

The Causeway is alive through its self-created ecosystem. Numerous wildlife species depend on the causeway for food, shelter, and breeding. The 10-mile byway is also a haven for humans to enjoy themselves, running at sea level along the Bay. The drive has gorgeous views, and a paved multi-use trail parallels the road, offering a safe cycling and pedestrian route for its entire length.

About this page's facts

The line is the Federal Highway Administration's scenic byways layer (HEPGIS, a snapshot of 2022-06-24, a US government work), cut at the state line and simplified for the map; the length is the line's. The designation is the program's own: the national tiers from FHWA's America's Byways roster, the rest from the layer's designation field. Road conditions, closures and seasonal gates change: check the agency's own page and the state's road conditions before you go.
